Giving your driveway or garden patio a refresh is sometimes all you need to do in order to transform your Stony Stratford home into the house of your dreams.
Patios can add elegance, charm and value to your home. They are also the perfect way to extend a home by ‘bringing the outside in’ and allowing you to enjoy your garden even more. Here at Hickford Construction, we offer a range of high-quality patio materials to choose from, including Indian Sandstone, all of which are long-lasting and stylish.
This Stony Stratford based project began with our house builders digging out the driveway (approx. 30sqm x 250mm depth) with a mini digger. Once the ground was prepared and we’d dug it out, we removed all the muck from the site with a grab lorry.
The driveway constructed was well-underway and we covered and laid terram weed preventer over the whole area. After this, we lay approximately 100m of type one stone and compacted it with a large whacker plate. When this was completed, we began to lay approximately 30sqm of block paving with a decorative border in charcoal. The decorative edging was complementary to the block paving and really brought this driveway to life.
For the rear garden patio we also excavated the area of approximately 24sqm with a mini digger. After this, and similarly to the driveway construction, we removed all the muck to the main gate before taking it away from the site in grab lorries.
When the groundwork and excavation was completed, we could then lay approximately 24sqm of Indian sandstone slabs in the colour of our client’s choice and pointed them. This garden patio added real value to their Stony Stratford property, whilst also allowing the client to enjoy alfresco dining with family and friends.
